Citrix Summit 2018 Roundup

Citrix Summit

Citrix Summit 2018

It was an exciting couple of days last week when the ThinPrint team set out to see a new Citrix at Citrix Summit 2018.

Partners from all over the globe came to hear about Citrix’ newest innovation, go to market strategies and to meet the new leadership team.

The event wasn’t all presentations and breakout session. At Citrix Summit, partners connected amongst each other, renewed community ties and met with vendors from the eco system.

It was an exciting event but we can’t share all of the details yet. We are happy to say that there was an amazing amount of interest not just in Citrix’ new solutions but also those from the ThinPrint portfolio.

As partners are getting to move customers to move from on-premises data centers to cloud solutions hosted on Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS managed by Citrix Cloud they realized that printing remains one of the most user friendly interfaces of the digital age.

The ThinPrint team took an unprecedented number of meetings – one of our team members was promised their own table in the networking lounge for next year – to discuss how ThinPrint

  • delivers print jobs to customer sites without a VPN or without having to go through the ICA virtual channels. This is especially important for all those partners looking to deploy Citrix Netscaler Gateway to Access XenApp or XenDesktop workspaces.
  • ensures business continuity through print-specific High Availability that checks 20 items around the print system to deliver a reliable, cost effective and easy to use experience.
  • provides mobile session printing to connect mobile users on their iOS devices to a printer close to them even if it’s not on the company network using Apple’s AirPrint technology.
  • manages printer drivers, configurations for printer drivers installed directly on a Mac or PC using ezeep Dash for customer who prefer to manage their workstations and use Citrix’ local printer re-direction where needed. Of course this can also be used to have a consistent print environment across all desktops if a customer stubbornly refuses to deploy Citrix to all their users.
  • helps service providers grow their CSP business, helps move customers to Citrix Cloud and supports innovative networking technologies like SD-WAN.
  • leads innovation in the printing space with solutions we’ll share with you, soon.

We were impressed with approachability of the new leadership team and their vision. CEO David Henschel took to the big stage to outline the transformation Citrix had undergone in 2017.

Mark Ferrer led the partner community through the strategies for 2018 and PJ Hough made sure everyone understood the technical aspects of the 2018 solutions lineup.

Craig Stilwell and Tim Minahan guided through partner programs, incentives and marketing campaigns.

We’re excited for 2018 with Citrix and the Citrix partner community! Once you start talking to the Citrix and ThinPrint teams, you will be too!
